Where are you located?

We are located in Brevard, in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Brevard is a quaint town 40 minutes south of Asheville, NC. Brevard is the gateway to Pisgah National Forest and 15 miles from DuPont State Forest. Both of these forests offer hiking trails, countless waterfalls and extensive outdoor activities. We are within walking distance to the heart of Brevard, which has numerous cute shops & restaurants.

What does a typical day look like and how is Tapestry unique?

We are unique because we are community based, voluntary with no locked cabinets or doors and we personalize your treatment. We also cost up to 50% less than other residential programs. View our location on this Google map.

How many staff members do you have, and what do they do?

Our staff includes a full-time registered nurse, CEDS-certified clinical director, registered dietitian, admissions coordinator, program director and resident counselors. We employ two full-time psychotherapists and a skilled medical director, as well as therapists for art, massage, music and our equine-assisted program. See the Meet Our Staff page to learn more about our family.

Do I have to meet with a psychiatrist?

Yes — you will meet with our medical director within a week of entering the program for an assessment regarding possible psychopharmacological needs.

How do I pay for Tapestry?

We accept self-pay as well as insurance. Self-pay options include sliding scale and we also offer payment plans through our finance company. We are contracted with most insurance companies. Deductible and maximum out of pocket is collected upon acceptance to the program. We will file the claims with your insurance company for your treatment. If we are not contracted with your insurance company, we will work with them to obtain a single case agreement. In the case of a single case agreement, your deductible and maximum out of pocket will be collected and we will then file the claims as we would with contracted insurances.

Do you have a step down program?

Yes, we do. Step down is a multidisciplinary process and you may learn more about our programs in our eating disorder treatment section.

How is my family involved in the treatment process?

Family therapy is a large part of our program. We consciously work with both client and family to achieve a full understanding of what the client is going through. We offer weekly family therapy sessions either face to face, over the phone or through Skype. We also have a monthly family weekend where both clients and families attend group therapy sessions, education sessions, face to face family therapy and equine therapy.

Where can I stay while my child attends the adolescent program?
There are a number of hotels and bed and breakfasts in the area around Hendersonville and Fletcher. We also have a cottage about 15 minutes from the program that is for rent by the day, week or month. For more information, please visit the link here.
